The Integration Hub works with Zapier, Make, n8n and Pipedream out of the box. Each guide builds the same two examples, so you can compare:
- New paid order → a row in Google Sheets
- New order → a message in Slack
| Tool | Guide | How it receives store events | How it calls the store |
|---|---|---|---|
| n8n | n8n.md | The Cartenvo Integration Hub Trigger node registers its own webhook and checks signatures | The Cartenvo Integration Hub node (orders, shipments, stock, prices) |
| Zapier | zapier.md | Webhooks by Zapier → Catch Hook | Webhooks by Zapier → Custom Request |
| Make | make.md | Webhooks → Custom webhook | HTTP → Make a request |
| Pipedream | pipedream.md | HTTP / Webhook trigger | A Node.js code step, or the HTTP request action |
What every tool needs from the store
- To receive events, a webhook. In admin, open Configuration → Integration Hub → Webhooks → Add webhook, choose Zapier, Make or n8n, paste the tool's address, and pick the events. (The n8n trigger node does this for you.)
- To call the store, an API key. Open API keys → Add key and tick only the scopes the workflow needs. The key page shows a first call with the key filled in.
Giving the tool a sample
Zapier and Make learn an event's fields from a sample. Send test on the webhook's page sends a short test.ping
message, which is enough to check the connection but has no order fields. For a full sample:
- Open Preview, pick the event (such as
order.paid) and a real order, and choose the webhook. - Click Show message, then Send to this webhook.
The message is a real order.paid for that order, marked with "sample": true in context, and it's in the
delivery log like any other. Filter on context.sample if a workflow must not act on samples.
Fields you'll use most
Every message has the same envelope:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
type | order.paid |
id | evt_3f9c… (the same on retries: use it to skip repeats) |
data.number | 1042 (the order number customers see) |
data.customer.email, .firstName, .lastName | |
data.totals.total, data.currency | 132, USD |
data.items[] | sku, name, quantity, priceInclTax |
data.billingAddress, data.shippingAddress | city, countryCode, phoneNumber… |
data.adminUrl | A link to the order in admin |
The webhook guide lists every event and field, and the API guide every call.
Security
- Each webhook address from Zapier, Make and Pipedream is long and random. Treat it like a password: anyone who knows it can send to your workflow.
- The n8n trigger node checks every delivery's signature for you. In the other tools, check it in a code step if a workflow does something that matters, such as creating invoices (how to check).
- Give each tool its own API key with the fewest scopes, so you can turn one off without touching the others.
